Add a Minor in Geography
The geography minor allows students to gain a broad foundation of geographic principles and knowledge or gain depth in one of the geography track areas of study–environmental studies, geographic information science, or health and society.
Requirements
- Requires a minimum of 15 semester hours in geographical and sustainability science courses (prefix: GEOG)
- Including at least 12 semester hours in UI courses numbered 3000 or above
- Geography majors are not eligible for the Minor in Geography
- Students must maintain a grade-point average (GPA) of at least 2.00 in all courses for the minor and in all UI courses for the minor
- Coursework in the minor may not be taken pass/nonpass
Students are encouraged to concentrate their coursework in tracks—environmental studies, geographic information science, or health and society (see our pages on the geography BA and BS for further information). For assistance in selecting courses, students should contact the department to request an advisor for the minor.
