Miah Boyle
I’m a PhD student in the department of Geographic and Sustainability Sciences. I received my BS in Microbiology and Genetics from Iowa State University and my MPH from the University of Michigan. Prior to starting this program, I worked as a Medical Laboratory Scientist specializing in clinical microbiology and molecular virology.
My research interests center around infectious diseases and identifying drivers of their genetic and spatial distribution through use of phylogenetic and GIS methodologies. When I’m not on campus, I’m an avid hiker and runner, and love planning backpacking trips and exploring with my two adorable dogs.
